READ is driven by the enthusiasm and excitement of our volunteers, without which our work would not be possible.
Whoever you are you can find a way to volunteer with READ....
Our Internships are an opportunity to gain invaluable experience which you can take with you wherever you go after university. To find out about Project Intern positions at universities click here.
Want to get involved in an exciting student led project where you run the whole project from start to finish?
Want to enhance your skills and gain new ones? Want to get experience that will make you stand out from the crowd?
Our Book Projects are entirely student led and are found at 22 locations across the UK - if you are a university student and have enthusiasm, commitment and ideas then why not come on board?

We need student volunteers to help with all aspects of the project:
- Planning and running fundraising events
- Driving vans during our book collections
- Book sorting and boxing
- Press and media - writing articles
- Distributing the books in Tanzania and Uganda!

You can give as much or as little time as you wish, but of course you'll get the most fun and enjoyment out of being a regular part of the team wherever you are and getting stuck into everything!

You can find your nearest project by selecting a university on the Book Project homepage.
Do you have expertise in marketing and publicity? Are you a computer whiz? Or do you simply love driving and would like to drive vans for us to collect books or even help us sort them?

If you are not a university student but would still like to help out with your local project - you can! You could drive a van during their books collections, run a fundraising event on their behalf, or simply help them spread the word in your local community.
Contact us and use your skills and ideas to make a difference!
Do you work in a storage, van hire or packaging company? Our Book Projects need vans to collect the books, storage to home them, and boxes to send them to Tanzania - if you would like to donate any such resources please contact us and find out how you can help.

We are REACH approved. We have a commitment to providing a high standard of practice towards our volunteers
