Working for READ International

Current vacancies

Director - We are now recruiting for a replacement to our founding director Rob Wilson.  The role will commence in January 2011.  This is a unique opportunity to lead a UK based, rapidly growing, high-achieving, student-led international charity, delivering positive change to hundreds of thousands of students in East Africa and the UK. READ has grown spectacularly, from our starting point to the current set-up of 9 staff based in the UK office and one based permanently in Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead in an award-winning, dynamic, student-driven and ambitious charity.  Downloadable role description is below...

Note from current Director Rob Wilson:

"The time is right to start looking for a new Director, but this decision has not been an easy one to make.  READ is a truly wonderful organisation, but my decision has been made on the back of a phenomenal few months and another hugely successful year for READ and I just can’t see a more appropriate time to move aside.  My hope when I started READ was that we’d create an organisation with a big vision, but more importantly one that actually achieves great things and is truly sustainable. 6 years later and we have now sent over 850,000 books to East Africa, we have a great staff team, we have a network of thousands of volunteers and alumni, we have a solid financial foundation, we have ongoing relationships with funders, we have strong corporate partnerships, and we’ve been winning awards left, right and centre!"

Community Book Drive Coordinator - We currently have an exciting graduate opportunity at READ to join our award winning team as a Community Book Drive Coordinator! Please download the role description below to find out more and apply to robert.wilson@readinternational.org.uk.

Our graduate internships offer an invaluable opportunity to gain a foothold in the UK charity and development sector whilst working with an award winning charity. You will develop a wide range of skills preparing you for a career in the voluntary or private sector and can give something back and help hundreds of thousands of children in the UK and East Africa at the same time.
